Barr Mansion Tasting and Open House Events

We recently hosted our First Harvest Tasting and our first Open House in our newly constructed Artisan Ballroom.  Both went off without a hitch!  Couples hosting their weddings here in the next few months enjoyed an evening of food, food, food at the First Harvest Tasting!  We featured new food items like Local Greens and Blue Cheese Truffles and a Thai Halibut and Shrimp Curry.  Six different cake flavors finished off the evening on a sweeter note.

The Open House was also a success.  STEMS Floral Design provided vintage inspired decor complete with a moss covered chandelier!  The ballroom was previewed in its full glory at dusk, showcasing the romantic ambience that so many brides desire. Brad from Hyde Park Photography was present at both events to capture these beautiful images!

A HUGE thanks to STEMS Floral Design and Hyde Park Photography!

Julianne and Forrest

Julianne and Forrest were married at the Rose Arbour on a slightly chilly but sunny March day.  The two shared a very touching ceremony and everyone could tell how excited they were to be marrying each other.  Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed appetizers including Baby Beef Burgers with Cabernet Onions, Pulled Pork Tacos, and Thin Crust Tomato Pizza.  The bride’s cake was a very grand five tier cake with white roses in between the layers.  Julianne and Forrest, thanks for being so incredibly sweet and supportive through the planning process.  From the entire Barr Mansion staff, we wish you all the happiness in the world!

Special Thanks to Chad and Tressie from Two Pair Photography for these beautiful images!  Be sure to check out their blog at www.twopairblog.com!  Floral provided by STEMS Floral Design!

Construction: We’re almost there!

The last few weeks have been awfully busy, so please excuse our gap in blog posts!  Our signature glass wall is almost complete.  Strips need to be installed to secure the glass in place and to define the individual panes.  The interior and exterior stucco are complete along with the roof.  The pizza oven is nearing completion as well!  Our exterior and interior doors were installed this week and we also installed permanent electricity this week.  Our wall sconces and light fixtures outside in front of the restrooms turned out beautifully!  The design of the awning over the front doors is being finalized and construction on that should begin soon.  In short, we are almost there!  The pictures that follow are in chronological order.

Construction: More Curtain Wall and More Stucco

Progress is being made on both the curtain wall and the stucco, both interior and exterior.  The horizontal steel is being installed and the true size of the panes of glass is clearer than ever.  Almost the entire exterior has been covered with the base colors of the stucco finish.  The exact color combination was finalized today.  The interior stucco is almost complete as well.  The pizza oven is also taking form and our baker, Simon, is getting more excited every day for his new baking kitchen.  The entryway from the parking lot received two little gem Magnolia trees today.  These trees have lights in them and are a wonderful new addition to the entry.  The pictures that follow are in chronological order.

The above picture is the finalized finish of the exterior stucco.
